CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — The construction of the new Sherwood Elementary School in Charlottetown is underway, and residents can expect exciting, new, eco-friendly changes in the building’s design.
A new fire hall in Summerside, Prince Edward Island, will allow firefighters to respond quicker to calls and create a more welcoming environment for female recruits, the chief says.

Plans to build a six-storey, $24-million apartment building in downtown Charlottetown have been abandoned, according to the project's developer.
The city will purchase the land, located at 425 Granville St., for $1 from Tim Banks, demolish the existing buildings and prepare the site for construction. The city said the cost is about $2.3 million.
